Welcome to my blog, plannerisma! I am Ara. 🙂
I am a planner, arts manager, folklorist, writer, and photographer, and I have a deep affection for paper planning. Talking about planning systems and tips with people from the wonderful #plannercommunity is one of my favorite hobbies, and I am always striving to figure out the best planning system. Of course, I have found that planning needs change frequently, and what might be the best planner during grad school (for me, a combo of The Day Designer and Inkwell Press A5 Horizontal Inserts in a Filofax), isn’t necessarily the best option when you are suddenly in a new city, looking for a new job and staring down an alarmingly less structured and packed schedule.
So this blog is part my planner journey, but it is also designed to provide you with honest reviews, examples of people I have paired with planners that they love and why it works for them, and tips I’ve come across. This blog is a place for me to document my planner life, but it is also, I hope, a resource for those of you who aren’t sure where to start, or need a change in your planning system and some guidance on what might be right for you.
I have used The Day Designer (A5, flagship, & mini), Erin Condren LifePlanner, Inkwell Press (bound & inserts), Filofax, Shinola Runwell, Cultivate What Matters Power Sheets, Emily Ley’s Simplified Planner, STARTplanner (hustle and legit), cloth & paper inserts, The Happy Planner (classic, big, and mini), ShePlans, Passion Planner, Refresh Weekly Planner, and more. Through my planner journey, I hope to have some insight into what works, what doesn’t, and how to find the right fit for your current chapter in life.
